& Amicalola Falls

At the last minute, we decided to go up to Amicalola Falls State Park to stay overnight at the lodge.  Of course we had to hike up to the top of the falls and back down...and on every other trail around the park.  I guess these pictures aren't much different than others I've taken there in the past, but here they are to enjoy anyway.

Cheryl, as we hiked up a very long trail from the visitor's center to the top of the falls.
A rather confused tree.
A view from near the top.
Another.
The very top of the falls, looking over them.
In the center of the picture is a pool that is at the bottom of the falls.
This is the tiny little creek that feeds the falls.  It's hard to believe all the water comes from this tiny thing!
Info about watersheds.

Me (and too much of my butt)
After hiking up on a trail, we then took stairs back down to the bottom.  (Cheryl is about mid-photo.)

Actually, I think the stairs were harder on my knees than the trail.
The falls from about 1/2 way down, where a bridge crosses over them.  Yes, this much water from that tiny little creek.
Same as above, but different framing.
Cheryl and I at the same spot as above.
Me.
From the same spot, zoomed in more at the top portion.
About 3/4 of the way down, looking back up.
Same as above, but different framing.
Same thing, zoomed in.
A view out our window at the lodge.
I think this was taken from the patio at the lodge.
After we got back home, Cheryl hung out with Tuxedo as we watched some TV
Tux.
