Wideawake
at CJ's Landing

One of the bands from the The Rock Boat cruise we were on -- probably the best "new" band we've seen, Wideawake, played for a small crowd at a local bar here in Atlanta (CJ's Landing) a couple weeks after the cruise.  The Rock Boat promoters did a last minute booking of the band, which was on their way back from Tennessee to Texas (they're from Austin) ...and they also bought a keg of beer, so the first few were free for everyone.

Because it was last minute (CJ's web site didn't even list them until a day or two before), and probably because it was on a Tuesday night, there weren't a lot of people there.  I felt a little bad for the band (which is fantastic), having to work for such a small crowd, but on the other hand, it was great for us because we were all up close...and they put on as great of a show as ever, even to the smallish crowd.

We saw a few people we recognized from the cruise, as well as some of the other artists from the cruise that came out to show support, such as Aslyn, Stef Dorfman and Five Star Iris, all of which are from Atlanta.

I didn't bring my camera with me, so all I got are these pretty poor shots (below) using the crappy camera in my phone, but there are plenty of other good pictures and video on my Rock Boat page.

Sorry...the phone-camera sucks in anything less than perfect lighting,
and it is slow, so any motion blurs.
